Luggage delivery services make it simple to ship your luggage wherever you are going, whether it is for your next vacation or if you are relocating to study. Instead of dealing with an airline that charges overweight fees, you can pay a flat fee and have your items securely picked up from your home and delivered to your destination. You no longer have to wait in line at baggage claim after your flight has landed, or stand around the ship terminal before you can board your boat.
Norwegian Air Cabin Allowance for Infants
There are no additional baggage allowances for infants, so anything you bring on board for your baby will count towards your allowances.
For example: If you are travelling with an infant on your lap, you are allowed to bring one piece of hand luggage on board that is no bigger than 55 x 40 x 23 cm with a maximum of 10 kg in weight. You are also allowed to bring one small personal item so long as it is not bigger than 25 x 33 x 20 cm and fits under the seat in front of you.
If you have a diaper bag that fits within these parameters it will qualify as your piece of hand luggage or your small personal item. If you have a diaper bag and a soft cooler for things like baby food, they would each count toward your piece of hand luggage and your small personal item. Ticketed adults with additional personal hand luggage would have to then pay extra to check those bags.
You are allowed to bring baby food or milk for your infant to consume during the flight but Norwegian Air asks that you not bring more than is absolutely necessary for the duration of the flight.
If you have a stroller or car seat you can bring one of each free of charge and it will be checked with your hold luggage.
Norwegian Air Prohibited items
Electronic cigarettes or vaping devices like atomizers, vape pens are all prohibited in checked baggage so you have to bring them with you on the plane that’s part of your carry-on baggage. You cannot bring fireworks or sparklers, hoverboards, liquid bleach, or oven cleaner. No toy guns, catapults, baseball bats, or razor blades are allowed either.
Norwegian Air Checked/Hold Baggage Allowance
The amount of checked bags you are allowed and the dimensions and weight for each allowed checked bag is contingent upon the type of ticket you have.
- LowFare: Customers can check baggage for an additional fee. There are no free checked bags. The cost is based on domestic or international flights.
- LowFare+: Customers are allowed to bring one checked bag for free up to 20 kg. Any bags beyond this will incur an additional fee.
- Flex and Premium: Customers are allowed to bring up to two checked bags weighing no more than twenty kilograms each.
For all three types of tickets, the same dimensional limitations apply. No bag can exceed 250 x 79 x 112 cm.

Luggage delivery companies offer a viable alternative to the extra fees and hassle of bringing multiple bags. Not only do you have the potential of saving hundreds of pounds using a delivery company, but you pay for the added convenience of your bags being picked up directly from your home, cruise ship, or hotel, and delivered promptly at your destination.
Norwegian Air Additional Payments for Extra and Overweight Bags
If you know that you have extra bags beyond what your ticket allows OR you know that you have bags that are now over the weight limit, the amount you pay is contingent upon where you are travelling.
- Norwegian air charges £50 per bag for any domestic flights
- Norwegian air charges £80 per bag or any international flights
In addition to this, bags that exceed the 20 kg limit will be charged £11 per extra kilogram. if your bag is over 32 kg they will not ship it simply because it is too heavy for staff members to transport.
For example, You are travelling with a LowFare+ international ticket. You are allowed 1 checked bag up to 20kg. Your first checked bag weighs 25 kg on your return flight. This is 5 kg over the limit so you are charged £55 for the first checked bag. You also have a second bag within the weight limit for which you must pay £80 extra.
Norwegian Air Excess Baggage Allowance for Sports Equipment
You can bring sporting equipment but it will count toward your checked baggage. If your sporting equipment exceeds your baggage allowance, then you have to pay the fees based on a domestic flight or an international flight. If it is overweight, you will have to pay additional fees for the extra weight as well.
Norwegian Air Carry-On Baggage Allowance and Musical Instruments
Norwegian Air allows you to bring small musical instruments on the plane as long as they are roughly the same size as your carry-on item or your hand luggage. Small musical instruments will count toward your hand luggage allowance. They cannot be bigger than 90 x 35 x 20 cm. If you have instruments which are larger than this allowance, and you bring it on a plane, the staff will require that you purchase an extra seat for it. Alternatively, you can check your musical instrument, possibly for an additional fee depending on the type of ticket you have.
For example: You booked an international flight with a Flex ticket. You are allowed to bring up to two checked bags. One of them is your large suitcase and the other is your musical instrument. However, your musical instrument exceeds the 20 kg weight so you are charged £11 per extra kilogram.
A fellow musician booked the same international flight with the same type of ticket. They checked one of their suitcases and brought their musical instrument on board, a smaller violin. However, the violin exceeds the carry-on luggage requirements and now the airline requires that your fellow musician pay for an additional Flex ticket for the instrument. This cost is hundreds of pounds more.
